Vintage Octagonal Wooden Japanese Wedding Basket with Lid

A beautifully detailed accent for a thoughtfully collected home, this vintage Japanese wedding basket combines an octagonal wooden form with a wooden handle and a decorative lidded top. Metal leaf-design overlays on four of the lid’s eight panels add an appealing contrast to the wood.

The lid is topped with a finial, and the interiors of both the basket and lid feature a tightly woven wood construction. Picture it displayed on a console or shelf where its shape and layered textures can be appreciated, a distinctive companion to your favorite vintage treasures.
